Welcome to CIRA Saskatoon

ABOUT CIRA SASKATOON

Welcome to the CIRA Saskatoon Chapter.  The Chapter is open to individuals and institutions interested in industrial relations, work, labour and employment, including collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, union-management relations, labour and employment law, and human resources management.  Our members include union staff, human resource professionals, neutrals such as mediators and arbitrators, government and labour board members, labour and employer side lawyers, academics and students.

The CIRA Saskatoon Chapter is a non-profit organization that endeavors to strengthen the professional community of labour relations practitioners in Saskatchewan.  We meet anywhere from four to six times a year for an evening of cocktails, dinner, expert speakers and discussion.  Come and join us and surround yourself with others who are equally interested in workplace issues.

The Saskatoon Chapter is associated with the national Canadian Industrial Relations Association, which is the professional association of labour relations academics in Canada.  Whereas the Saskatoon Chapter primarily supports the practitioner community, the national CIRA aims to serve academics and researchers by sponsoring conferences and encouraging high quality research and teaching practices.  As a member of the Saskatoon Chapter, you will have access to cutting edge research before it is widely disseminated.

Welcome and see you at our next event,

Scott Walsworth, Ph.D.
Chapter Director
